Verena Street 12 Ounce Whole Bean Coffee, Medium Roast, Julien's Breakfast Blend, Rainforest Alliance Certified Arabica Coffee

This is really good coffee. I’m not a huge coffee person. I used to drink one cup in the morning just to get going. But after purchasing Verena Street I now have a cup in the afternoon as well. I find myself looking forward to it as soon as I have finished the first. My first order arrived quickly but sat in a black mailbox all afternoon on a 100+ degree day. In direct sun. When I opened the package the bag of coffee beans was fully inflated with air. This was the first time I had ordered a bag of any kind of coffee and didn’t know if it meant there was an issue with the bag being sealed. The bags at the store always have little air in them. I emailed the company and they replied promptly and explained the beans give off a gas after roasting and the bag can be expected to have some level of air in it. It also has a vent for that purpose. I opened the bag and it smelled great and tasted perfect. I have nearly finished my first bag and just ordered my second. I will add any new info to this review after it arrives and I’ve tasted it. Update: I am currently halfway through my 3rd bag of Julien’s Breakfast Blend and am still loving it! All three bags have been consistent in aroma, flavor and freshness. I have no complaints about product, shipping or customer service. Ordering coffee from Verena Street has been a great experience! Update my update: I’m just finishing my 4th (or 5th?) bag of Julien’s breakfast blend. About to order my next bag. I can’t believe how consistent the beans have been since I began ordering. I have no complaints. Everyone who’s tried a cup has commented on it or asked for the brand. I even had a friend ask for a handful of the beans to put in a mesh bag and place in her car as an scented air freshener.

I must say, I have been trying different coffee’s for quite a long time. The most popular brand Starbucks, followed by Peet’s, Caribou and the like. I have tried coffee from all over the world - reasonably priced coffee as I am not wealthy and LOVE good coffee. Jaimacan Blue Bean is out of my price range, however, this Verana Street Brand coffee is simply delightful. I would say it has a smoother, mild, wonderful flavor. I will most likely stick to this brand for quite some time. It beats the brands a listed above, and is still sold at a great price. Thank yo Verena Street brand, I am lucky to have found you! French press, Verena Street Coffee, and a great, delightful cup of coffee is all yours! Highly reccommend.

Good coffee just wish it could be shipped better. Ever since we started ordering it it comes in a busted box and the last two times the coffee bag itself has been punctured/torn open with beans spilled everywhere and missing. Coffee tastes great just not sure if I want to deal with contacting customer service each time I order

Every time we order whole bean coffee, we buy a new brand from large and small roasters alike. I ran across this one and thought I'd give it a try. If it was poor tasting we have neighbors we can gift it to. Turns out Julien's Breakfast Blend is a keeper. Great flavor. A bit of smokiness. Darker than a medium roast but lighter than a dark roast. Perfect for a morning coffee. We make this in a French Press. Highly recommended.

I opened the bag and was immediately disappointed! My expectations of this coffee was a smooth medium roast. What did I get? Dark, oily beans!! Ok, so not medium. Trying to be optimistic, (I mean, look at all the 5 star reviews) I grind the beans and brew my coffee the way I always do. Strong! I usually have 2-3 cups a day. The first day, I had a little bit of my normal coffee left, so I mixed the two together. It made my stomach ache so badly, I had to throw the whole pot away and just drink green tea. The next day, I thought, let's give it another whirl! Maybe I was just having an off day. I brewed it, but less potent this time. I poured in my half and half and then added my less strong coffee into my mug. Curdled cream instantly rose to the top! I double check the date on my cream, I have plenty of time! Nowhere near expired!! I briskly stir my cottage cheese, I mean coffee, to try and incorporate my cream as much as possible. It's not great looking, but it looks smoother. The flavor, not good. Bitter and acrid. Again, stomach ache ensues. This coffee is too acidic!! Smooth and balanced, it is not!!!! It is bad!

Review for Julien’s Breakfast Blend: Really good, fresh, aromatic, roasted perfectly coffee beans! Excellent first cup for the day! We immediately liked this blend for its smell, balanced taste and smooth finish! Pairs great with breakfast fare and cinnamon rolls! My wife and I were looking for a good coffee for our morning coffee. We use a french press and wanted to find a coffee that was good but not so expensive. We saw this coffee had good reviews so we took a gamble on it. In the end, it wasn't the 'diamond in the rough' coffee we were hoping for. It wasn't that it made bad coffee, and there was definitely less bitterness than the cheaper brands you can buy in grocery stores, but it didn't impress us enough to want to keep using it. Our quest continues.
